Customers who enter the newest branch of Werner’s butcher's shop in Sülzburgstraße, Cologne rub their eyes in amazement: meat and cold cuts which the company based in Bad Honnef produces according to old family recipes from local raw ingredients are presented in a high quality and extremely appetising way that also conveys tradition.
The interior – designed by managing director Klaus Werner himself – boasts a bold mix of styles: the ceiling and floor of the clearly arranged salesroom are a dark grey, making the nostalgic white metro tiles on the rear wall shine all the more. Motifs in a chalkboard look underline the artisan impression and in the snack area black wooden tables combined with designer stools made of clear plexiglass are arranged against a background of stripped brick wall. A real eye-catcher: the bull's head on the fridge containing specialities for customers to help themselves to.
The technical equipment is also ultra-modern: refrigerated cabinets made entirely of glass, digital weighing and cash till systems – and of course LED lighting from BÄRO tailored to the different products and room zones and optimising the inherent colours of the products. The new semi-recessed luminaires of the ID luminaire family are installed. They feature a low-key and high quality design down to the last detail.
The light colours: needless to say, the well-proven, product-specific special light colour SpecialMeat for the natural and appetising presentation of meat and cold cuts is used to illuminate the counters from above. The standard light colour 3,000 K is used to illuminate the working area behind the counter. It offers good colour rendering and lighting that is slightly more neutral and fresher than in the customer area where luminaires with a warm white light colour (2,700 K) and very good colour rendering create a pleasant atmosphere.
